[Case Study on Problem Solving] I want to improve the machinability of powder metallurgy.
Contributing to improved machinability through resin impregnation treatment! Introduction of a case where manufacturing costs were significantly reduced.
"When machining sintered parts, burrs occur on the finished surface, and while we want to improve machinability, changing processing conditions or cutting oils is cumbersome, so we were wondering if there is a better method." Sintered parts are intermittently processed materials with fine pores, which can easily generate frictional heat on the cutting surface, leading to plastic deformation and causing burrs. However, by using resin impregnation treatment to fill the pores, we can suppress the generation of frictional heat and improve machinability. Since adopting the resin impregnation treatment, burrs on the finished surface have almost ceased to occur, and processing defects have been reduced. 【Case Summary (Excerpt)】 ■Challenges - Burrs occur on the finished surface when machining sintered parts, and while we want to improve machinability, changing processing conditions or cutting oils is cumbersome. ■Solution - By filling the pores with resin impregnation treatment, we can suppress the generation of frictional heat and improve machinability. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
